Nautical Mural

We had the opportunity to work with a wonderful family who asked us to consider two designs for their 6 month old boy: a nautical theme and an outdoors theme. Both themes bring such wonderful ideas to mind! Nautical: think maps, boats, coordinates, ocean, lighthouse…. Outdoors: sun, clouds, vegetation, animals…. So much fun to be had! However, both themes are also very related as nautical calls many outdoor scenes to mind as well. The idea in all designs was to bring the elements of the “outdoors” into the room to liven it up. Following are a few of the options that Little One’s Nook presented the parents with:

After reviewing the designs with the parents, at their request, the design was revised to combine the elements they liked most from all the ideas. Interestingly enough, it ended up being a fusion of both concepts, nautical and outdoors, in one:

Awy and Heather,
You did a great job. My son loves his room. We were away for the weekend and he woke up this morning with the biggest smile on his face. The work was done well, quickly and with no mess. Thank you – it has turned his room into a very special place.
