CUSTOM BABY NURSERY MURALS

So much fun!!!  This nursery mural is simple, whimsical and witty all in one. These parents had a great concept for their little one’s room decor: a monkey group representing all the members of their family.  Thus, we have daddy monkey, mommy monkey, kid monkey and baby monkey. Since the room was so small (approximately 8′x8′), I wanted to carry the theme with the least number of elements possible.  So each monkey takes on it’s personality through their own “monkey business” (i.e. pose) and accessories (i.e. hats, necklace).  It was amazing to have the opportunity to put this together for this family.

We had the opportunity to work with a wonderful family who asked us to consider two designs for their 6 month old boy: a nautical theme and an outdoors theme. Both themes bring such wonderful ideas to mind! Nautical: think maps, boats, coordinates, ocean, lighthouse…. Outdoors: sun, clouds, vegetation, animals…. So much fun to be had! However, both themes are also very related as nautical calls many outdoor scenes to mind as well. The idea in all designs was to bring the elements of the “outdoors” into the room to liven it up. Welcome to 2010, Little One’s Nook!! Here is our first mural for this year. We painted it in January and it took us a bit to get pictures posted, but here they are nonetheless. The room was painted in a very modern contrasting combination of gray and yellow. It is interesting to see how different the same colors look on the two different backgrounds. The yellow and gray combination made the room look modern but somber. The addition of the mural completely transformed the space into a cozy baby corner. Enjoy the pictures! So, no postings for a while here…. but that does not mean we haven’t been busy. Quite the contrary. I have been too busy to post!!
