Nautical Mural
We had the opportunity to work with a wonderful family who asked us to consider two designs for their 6 month old boy: a nautical theme and an outdoors theme. Both themes bring such wonderful ideas to mind! Nautical: think maps, boats, coordinates, ocean, lighthouse…. Outdoors: sun, clouds, vegetation, animals…. So much fun to be had! However, both themes are also very related as nautical calls many outdoor scenes to mind as well. The idea in all designs was to bring the elements of the “outdoors” into the room to liven it up. Following are a few of the options that Little One’s Nook presented the parents with: Read more >
Mural Design for Triplets: The Family Tree

Giraffe and Monkey Mural
Welcome to 2010, Little One’s Nook!! Here is our first mural for this year. We painted it in January and it took us a bit to get pictures posted, but here they are nonetheless. The room was painted in a very modern contrasting combination of gray and yellow. It is interesting to see how different the same colors look on the two different backgrounds. The yellow and gray combination made the room look modern but somber. The addition of the mural completely transformed the space into a cozy baby corner. Enjoy the pictures! We surely enjoyed painting it.
Monkey Themed Baby Mural
This was such a fun theme to develop!! Monkeys are fun to draw, fun to research and fun to paint. These are a few design schemes that were submitted to the client. Pictures of the finished mural to follow.

Under Water Baby Mural
So, no postings for a while here…. but that does not mean we haven’t been busy. Quite the contrary. I have been too busy to post!! The past month we worked on this wonderful under water themed mural!! What a joy it was to design this! Following are three schemes for the same mural design, out of the 6 schemes submitted to the client.
Around, around, fly the birds…
We have been busy the last few weeks. There’s a beautiful 11 month old baby out there waiting for this mural to get painted in the next few weeks. This may change a bit as it is still a work in progress…. wanted to share it with you all anyway. It is a very small room, so the goal here is to make this mural very unobtrusive but brightening the room at the same time.
Celebratory Skyline
Oh, well… so I live in New York City, and some New York City parents love their city so much that they want it in their baby’s bedroom! This sketch is a study for such a mural: an impressionistic New York City celebrating the arrival of a new little one. This could even make a great mural for an older child or a playroom instead of a nursery!…. so it’s meant to last on that wall until your baby is ready to hang his/her favorite music band posters….
